Hallelujah moments: 1) great “Baptism of the Lord” worship, with 84 present; 2) $2,230.20 in plate offerings and significant Memorial Fund gifts in memory of Richard “Dick” Albert and Holman P. Britt; 3) many prayers, calls and gifts in support of our mission trip to Haiti; and 4) our Youth Group, active in worship, study and service, including Will Bonnell and Caitlyn Elder, who preached at Dunlop House on Christmas Day.

Celebrate the public ministry of Jesus the Messiah, Son of God and Son of Man, in worship this Sunday. Read the Scripture lesson in John 1:43-51. Celebrate Human Relations Day with a special offering for United Methodist ministries with former youth offenders and inner city ministries. This offering is taken church-wide on the Sunday nearest Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s, birthday, which is this Sunday.
Praise God for our choirs, now rehearsing: Sundays at 6:30 for the Junior Choir, Thursdays at 7 for adults.
I am excited about the study on Sunday evenings of The Revelation to John. Meet in the Bible Class room in the sanctuary, 6:30-7:45. Read Rev. 2-3 for this week.
The Church Council will meet on Monday, January 16, at 7 pm. Everyone is welcome.
Mike Pond and I join eight others on Wednesday, January 18 on a trip to Haiti, where we will help build a school on La Gonave Island. We will return January 25. Rev. Connie Morris will fill in for me, and preach on Sunday, January 22.
